Katie Greenberg is the Chief of Staff of Grove Climate Group, LLC. Katie joined the team in April 2025 after nearly a decade in public service. She most recently served in the Biden-Harris Administration at the U.S. Department of Defense as Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Energy, Installations, and Environment. In this role she led the Assistant Secretary’s top initiative, the Resilient and Healthy Defense Communities Strategy and Implementation Plan. Additionally, she supported the Department’s clean energy and environment work, including building electrification, clean energy procurement, EVs, chemical cleanup and remediation, land management, and NEPA.
Prior to joining the Biden-Harris Administration, Katie spent six years at the U.S. House of Representatives working for Democrats across the geographic and political spectrum, serving as a Legislative Director to Congresswoman Carolyn Bourdeaux, and Legislative Assistant to Congressman Paul D. Tonko and Congresswoman Julia Brownley. She has extensive experience staffing and advising Members of Congress, having directly staffed House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, House Veterans Affairs Committee, House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, and House Committee on Energy and Commerce hearings and markups.
Throughout her time on Capitol Hill, Katie facilitated the passage of six bills into law and ensured her boss’ priorities were included in the Inflation Reduction Act, the Water Resources Development Act, and United States, Mexico, Canada Agreement (USMCA). Additionally, she managed her boss’ leadership roles with the New Democrat Coalition, Pro-Choice Caucus, and Women Veteran Task Force.
Katie received her Masters in Public Management from Johns Hopkins University and her B.A. in Sociology and Public Policy from The College of William & Mary. She lives in Washington D.C.
